Education in the US

Some universities in the US have been frequented by students from SMC College of Dairy Science. Students who graduated from the following universities did good in US industry:

South Dakota State University (SDSU) in Brookings, South Dakota:
SDSU has probably graduated more SMC students than any other university. The departments of Dairy Science, Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering and Nutrition & Food Science are some departments related to dairy manufacturing and food processing that might interest students from SMC.
Pros:
* Relatively easy to get admission; Decent researches
* High chances of funding (assistantship)
* Quiet, almost crime free location with about 125 Indian students and a handful of Indian families
* Possible to graduate between 1½ to 2 years
* Relatively low fees and possibility of saving a few thousand dollars at the end of the year
* Almost all SMC students had job offers soon after, or even before, graduating
Cons:
* Some courses are way too easy; not many choices of specialized courses
* Fewer research topics; not the best place to do a PhD
* No Indian store; Get-together is limited (almost inexistent Diwali/Navratri functions)
* Cold climate (temperatures can go as low as -30°C). Tornadoes and storms possible in summer. Check out State Climate Office of South Dakota
